Facundo Campazzo: ‘Focus is on the NBA. It’s my first choice’
Facundo Campazzo is heavily prioritizing staying in the United States and the NBA, despite Real’s reported interest in bringing him back to Madrid.
Facundo Campazzo remains without a team in the NBA, therefore Real Madrid is expected to make move for him.
For the Argentinian guard, however, the NBA is a priority, as he clearly stated while staying in Argentina. Campazzo is currently an unrestricted free agent after Denver Nuggets opted not to re-activate his contract for the new season, but he will try to remain in the United States.
“I want to stay in the NBA, I think I’ve shown that I can compete when I’m at my best, when they give me confidence and I feel part of the rotation,” said Campazzo to the Argentinian newspaper La Nacion.
“In fact, I was a starter in my first playoff game in every game except the last one, and I played a lot in the regular season,” Campazzo added.
The Argentinian guard believes he’s an NBA-level player, and while he’s not saying no to Real, his priority is clear.
“I feel like an NBA player and I want to stay at that level. It keeps you on your toes because anything can happen,” explained Campazzo.
“I’m not saying no to Real Madrid. What I’m saying is the focus is on the NBA. It’s my first choice,” the 31-year-old added.
