Australia’s Gangurrus squad for FIBA 3×3 is officially set, with Basketball Australia locking in the teams that will compete in the highly anticipated 2025 FIBA 3×3 Champions Cup. Taking place from 14–16 March at CentralWorld Square in Bangkok, Thailand, this tournament will showcase the world’s top 16 teams, featuring elite squads from 12 countries, including Olympic gold medallists and continental cup winners.

Meet Australia’s Gangurrus Squad for FIBA 3×3: Men’s and Women’s Teams

Representing Australia in the Men’s division are standout talents Josh Davey and Cairns Taipans trio Alex Higgins-Titsha, Jonah Antonio, and Dillon Stith. Meanwhile, the Women’s team features Perth Lynx stars Anneli Maley and Miela Sowah alongside emerging talents Isabelle Bourne and Hannah Hank.

Fresh from her 2024 Paris Olympic campaign, Anneli Maley is excited about the team’s new additions.

“Australian basketball has so much talent. Bringing players into the 3×3 culture will only elevate our game. Miela is incredible, and playing alongside Issie and Hannah, who are both tough competitors, will be exciting,” Maley shared.

FIBA 3×3 Tournament Structure and Key Matchups for the Gangurrus

Both teams will compete in Pool B, with group-stage action kicking off on 14 March. The Women’s team will begin against Spain at 8:40 p.m. AEDT, followed by clashes with Thailand at 8:00 p.m. AEDT and France at 10:35 p.m. AEDT on 15 March.

The Men’s squad starts their run against France at 9:50 p.m. AEDT before facing Thailand (8:50 p.m. AEDT) and the USA (11:50 p.m. AEDT) on 15 March.

Josh Davey, a key player in Australia’s 2024 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup victory, acknowledges the tournament’s challenges but remains optimistic.

“Our opponents have played together for years. To succeed, we need to execute plays and stay physically dominant. Our athleticism and versatility will be crucial in this tournament,” Davey said.
